The keeper of
the keys.
— The condition at sea
Every agent needs keys, and every key handed to an agent is a key you no longer control. Credentials pasted into prompts, scattered through env files, echoed into logs — a quartermaster would call it what it is: an unlocked magazine.
The more capable the crew becomes, the worse the arithmetic gets.
— The instrument
Caddi is credential custody for agents. Keys live in an encrypted vault; agents are issued scoped tools that act on their behalf. The agent asks, the vault acts, and the raw key never leaves the strongbox.
The agents that built this studio's instruments draw their keys from it daily.
— Workings
Scoped MCP tools
An agent never holds a credential — it holds a tool with exactly the permissions the task requires, nothing more.
The vault expands
v2 is live. Agent identity and agent mailboxes are on the slipway — custody grows into personhood for the crew.
